Britney Spears’ stripper pole axed by hotel

Britney Spears cancelled a booking for a top Dublin hotel because they refused to co-operate with her demands for a stripper pole, it has emerged.
The 27-year-old Womanizer star requested that an exclusive hotel on the Dublin southside install a steel pole during her brief stay in the city for her sell-out Circus tour.
But when the venue declined, her minders promptly booked into the apparently more accommodating Four Seasons Hotel instead.
A source revealed the mum-of-two is a keen pole dancer, as it apparently helps her keep in shape.
The source said: “She adores working out on a pole as it helps her keep toned.
“She has had to work very hard to squeeze back into those tiny stage costumes and she knows she has to stay on top of her regime. Britney can’t let her weight creep back up as this is the most important tour of her career and she has to stay in peak physical condition.”
The pole dancing vaults into a new role

Wearing a gauzy blue two-piece costume that resembles a circus acrobat’s uniform, Laura Martin climbs up an 11-foot steel pole in a move popularly called the “Caterpillar Crawl.”
Aggressive and athletic yet fluid and hyper-flexible, she proceeds to blaze through a pole-dancing routine of inverted suspensions, spins and slides.
Hoots and whistles from the female-dominated crowd compete with the live music provided by the rock band Avowed. One woman screams to a friend, “It’s just like trapeze!”
Martin, a former exotic dancer, appreciates the comparison of what she does to something other than adult entertainment.
“I want to see pole dancing get away from the stripper connotation,” says the 30-year-old San Diego-based performer and personal fitness instructor. “I want people to see it’s like any other dance form.”
